After the death of his wife, Dr. Evan Gibbs (Cameron Bancroft) and his 10 year old son, Nate (Aidan Mitchell), leave Chicago to spend the summer setting up a clinic in the North Carolina mountains. Clashing against the ways of the small community, Evan is forced to deal with his recent loss while reconnecting with his son and learning a different pace of life.
